Fergie is going crazy on the touchline - he thinks Wayne Rooney has been checked by David Luiz just outside the Chelsea penalty area, and looking at the replays, he might have a case, too. Good Lord there's a lot going on.
Hmm. Now, neutrals will be pretty pleased about that, but I'm not sure it was a penalty. Frank Lampard is on the left of the area and he tries to feed Yuri Zhirkov - the Russian manages to sneak the ball through Chris Smalling's legs and goes down under a challenge from the defender - but I'm not sure Smalling could really have got out of the way.
From Matt in Wigan, on text: "That penalty shouldn't be the goal to decide a game like this - poor decision."
Apparently, referee Martin Atkinson has given 11 penalties this season now. Seems like a lot, huh?
From James, Basingstoke, on text: "Absolutely appalling officiating. I'm a neutral and that decision has killed the game. Shame."
From HenryWhitfield on Twitter: "All these complaints about [referee] Atkinson are fine."
From LordMushroom on Twitter: "A wonderful advert for everything that is good about the Premier League. And everything that is bad about refereeing."
From Tom, London, on text: "Chelsea should have 100% been down to 10 men before that goal. This hasn't been mentioned enough."
Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson: "We defended badly for the first goal, but the penalty kick is so soft, dear me. We played really well and we didn't deserve that. Three years in a row here decisions have changed the game."
Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson on Chelsea's David Luiz: "He's done Chicarito before he got booked, and he did Rooney two minutes before the penalty was awarded, I don't know how he was still on the pitch. The players have endured a lot of decisions against them and they didn't deserve that tonight."
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti: "David Luiz could be lucky, but a lot of things were going on so it's difficult for the referee."
