Ask for the "Village Museum". It's close to the airport exit. It's an outdoor museum with old houses from different regions of Romania.

Enjoy your visit to Bucharest.

waste11.04.2006 16:50

There are actually quite a few things to see in Bucharest. You could just stick to the University, the Cismigiu park, the Victoria boulevard, the Royal Palace etc.

All of those are in a small area in the center of the city, so they can be seen in 2 hours :)

winner_00711.04.2006 16:59

and of course if you see a red white team you can fight them because they are the shame of all Romania

Allen11.04.2006 17:04

We have lots of casinos. Third place city on planet, after Vegas and Monaco. :D

waste11.04.2006 18:21

The man is coming with his 2 teenage daughters, why do you send him to the casinos ? :D

Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan11.04.2006 18:38

Do not wear boro scarve or some other club item. The red-white combination of colors is not very apreciated here.

feanfan11.04.2006 19:01

Funny, when we played against Dinamo they warned us for the same, but than they ment you

Fortunatly Heerenveenfans met good guys of Dinamo and arranged a meeting for a drink. They met them again while we were back playing against you, and have a drink with them again. No problems.

On the other hand they had bad experience with Steaua fans on the board. Bad language and all that.

It appears to be an other board as this one, cause I have good experience with you guys and told the Heerenveen fans about it.

Seems on both camps there are "good" and "bad" guys, you must just have the luck to meet the right ones 8)

@Martin tunney

I wish you and your two girls a pleasant stay in Bucarest.

Alextds11.04.2006 22:02

Dinamo fans ar good whit everybody cause usually they have only 2 matches in a year whit european team at home the one whit the first round team in the european competition ( usually the one who kick them out of the competition  ) and the championship match against Steaua so they don't realy have european ambition they only have european dreams.

Steaua Bucharest has european ambitions, past and more important quality.

And this diference makes Dinamo fans more passive (having only 2-3000 fans in the championship games and not reaching full house in the last 10 years history even if there stadium capacity is 18.000) and Steaua fans more fanatics ( playng on a 28.000 capacity stadium whit an avarge bigger then 18.000)

Steaua - Heerreenven tickets sold out in 2 days, 12 days before the game and in the game day UEFA worn Steaua because they let 53.000 people in the stadium whit more that 3000 the stadium capacity and 5000 fans remain outside of the stadium even if Steaua was already consideret qualified.

At the Steaua-Betis game initialy Betis fans had reserved 2000 tickets but whit 2 days before the game they cancel the trip the tickets sold out in 15 minutes to Steaua suporters (and before the news about them appeared in the media).

Ultras_Fever12.04.2006 07:08

remember last year, dinamu fans beat an english family...

STARforce12.04.2006 11:55

Again i want to reinforce the fact that any RED/WHITE paraphernalia is very dangerous as the colors are similar to our life long enemies(the little doggies), so it would be best not to display such stuff while wondering around town!

Take it as a piece of advice and pass it on to your fellow mates!

martin tunney13.04.2006 12:28

Steaua fans!

thanks for all your help, Ill keep away from the casinos!

Neutral colours during the day but I do intend buying a Steaua shirt !

"Waste", Ill take your advice on visiting parts of the city,is the bucharesti mall near any of your recommended areas?

May the best team win( c'mon boro! :D )

waste13.04.2006 16:09

There are actually 2 malls, but none of them very near to the place I've mentioned. Of course, you can ask for guidance when you arrive in Bucharest.

To all 'Boro fans: stay away from the gypsies  (yes, this was a 'racist' remark).

Wearing a Steaua shirt might not be that safe as it seems to be :) There are rapid and dinam0 fans also in Bucharest (of course, with their tails between their legs these days). However, the majority of football fans in Romania support Steaua.

Allen13.04.2006 18:35

There are 3 malls actually.:D

Alextds14.04.2006 10:41

There are more then 3 but not to close to the stadium. But there's one close to the airport next to the Zoo in Padurea Baneasa (padurea = forest), I never bean there so i can't recomand it, I only know it's there. What i recomand is to go in a mall after the game (if u realy whant to go there), Bucharest trafic is verry bad before and after a Steaua Bucurest game ( Steaua Bucharest suporters go to the stadium starding whit 4-5 hours earlyer then the game first whisle) so u should be close to the stadium to be sure u get in one time.

If you asked for the mall only to go shopping u can do that in Piata Unirii ( Union Plaza in translation but i think the romanian name will help u better ) there are many shopes there to and some large comercial center and it's closer to the stadium than any mall, there are also places to eat and drink here and a small park whit fountains and a club whit pool table (what usually it's full).

martin tunney14.04.2006 15:00

martin tunney14.04.2006 15:36
